My Monstrous Concepts

We all have a primal fear of spiders and deep dark places. One's own home can sometimes provide the greatest catalyst to our fear in the most smallest of creatures and put in the most common of places. combined with the unknown and the rush of fear we can envision some of the most ghastly of probabilities when we venture into a place with little lighting and even less courage. I give you a probable out come form an improbable scenario made only possible from the recess of our greatest of insecurities.But we never know when that improbable scenario can become all to real, I leave you the viewer to garner your own conclusion.

well here is monthly post for my favorite month of the year, October and what better way than to take a Don Kenn drawing and put my own spin on it.  Here is the Don Kenn Drawing that inspired me to do this particular painting. I simply love this mans Drawings and am just always inspired by how he takes a so simple setting and makes it uneasy creepy and unsettling.  Here is my take on the inspired drawing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I  enjoyed making it .

Oh the despair of contemplation how many of us has succumbed to the suffering of the contemplation of the unknown, I know I have. better to be true to yourself than to lie as a shallow corpse in a  field full of sheep.

Not your normal run of the mill monster piece, this was possibly birthed from a subliminally dirty mind or a ghastly desire to make you uncomfortable and make you do a double take. it was intended to be a cover piece for a horror novel but I scrapped this idea and decided on redoing it. the Phallic part was unintentional and is not meant to be a phallus but merely a part of the back ground. but alas we all have our unintentional parts in our creations at times, so I will just post him here and let you enjoy Overbite cute little bugger isn't he?

I took Native American legend and folklore and made a medicine shield of sorts but geared more towards the darker aspects of shamanistic practices. There is dark magic here my father warned me of the skin walker and how his corruption would kill us all if we allowed our spirits to be influenced  by his dark desires and wickedness Greywolf Softfeather tribal shaman the previous is purely fictitious from a screen play I am working on but its an intense scene were they find the particular shield and begin to understand the evil entity the must do battle with. Look for more of this in the works its a pet project I am working on at the moment.

I did this in honour of my most favourite band. VNV Nation (victory not vengeance) I took a tutorial and applied the basic elements then added some of my own stuff. I plan to do more CD mock ups in the near future.This was a lot of fun and I learned quite a bit from it.

I grew up during the eighties and I loved going to the local arcades that had a ll the new games with all the graphics from Joust to Ghosts and Goblins to one of my true favourites.  Sinistar  this is some commissioned fan art                                                                 Enjoy the retro fan box art and hope that we can get to see a modern version of the master of destruction!

Well I had do it behold my Cheesy Video Cover Cue Eighties  Cheesy flick horror Sound track Along with a deep deep deep voice over and you get The Forboding More of an experiment than anything else still it was a lot of fun and that is the whole point is it not?

I love the H.P.Lovecraft universr of the Mad Arab and his run insw with giant gods that hunger for the souls of mankind. Make no mistake if the Necronomicon is whats its cracked up to be it would not be so easily available at your local book store.I mean c'mon is this what you want to see when you are on vacation and riding the hot air balloon in the alps?? yeah me neither

Don Kenn is a fantastic artists who is from Denmark I believe and does these wonderful little post it note monsters. Here is one of the pics I redid as an homage to Don Kenn

here is a pov shot I worked on. this little sucker looks like he is ready  to do more than have a midnight snack. he has a sinister glee going on in that red abyss he calls a mouth a little something to fear  when you go down the stairs at night. well sleep tight.

A Sculpting concept for a medieval Heavy Metal Band, Composed of crazed Goblins . This fella is the lead singer kind of a mix of Johny Rotten and Wayne Static.He needs a name a very psychotic and heavy metal name....

I got the idea for this fellow watching a documentary on how bones are picked clean by flesh eating beetles.My friend was feeding his lizard some meal worms and he told me if you keep the worms around long enough they become these weird black beetle. So I thought hey what happens if meal worms get mutated or corrupted by some arcane device of some kind hence this handsome fellow. Well lets be glad its not fully evolved who knows what it will look like when it grows up.....

A proposed Movie poster for a Story of a Coven of Blood Thirsty witches and their abilities to transcend death to carry out their lust for the destruction of those who would dare oppose them. Still figuring out the picture enlarging process but the easiest way is to click on the picture right click and click view image. and there you go use the zoom and enjoy all the ghastly goodness.

Here are a couple of quick concepts for some Demons I had in mind. the lower one looks more like a Tasmanian devil type creature but my fave is the the larger demon looking at the viewer with a sneer of contempt.Ha. Puny Mortals is what he might be saying This one is a concept for a Halloween Mask I was thinking of making it is still in prelim stages but I am sure it will get uglier as it progresses.

I was playing around with trying to get the feel of discomfort.The creature at the top of the steps is more than an obstacle its more along the lines of unavoidable destiny.I named the creature Inns mouth after the famous city in the Cthulhu mythos of H.P. Lovecraftian lore.

Poor farmer it seems using special government made hormones has caused this particular clutch of eggs to have a more sinister agenda.
